This engaging and interactive course gives teachers the opportunity to develop their skills in an international environment with educators from around Europe. Participants will have several workshops to learn and practice various tools that they can use in their classroom immediately. In addition to classes and workshops, the course includes visits to cultural spaces, museums and meetings with cultural educators.
The course takes place in Venice, Italy. The city has an incredible variety of art in its museums, ranging from Renaissance paintings to contemporary art installations. This course runs during the Easter week, and participants will experience decorations and Venetian tradition throughout the city.
The course is a balanced combination of theory and practice. The final projects vary for primary and secondary teachers and all the participants take away at least 4 lesson plans which they can apply in their classroom. They will create lesson plans using artworks which focus on speaking, listening, reading and writing. These lesson plans can be applied to works of art in their home cities, or teachers can use the Google Arts & Culture online collection for wider reach.
